Goals
Thanks to the acts of A Child, A Promise, children from refugee camps are able to join animation centres where they benefit of a scholastic and psychological follow up. These centres offer them a space for games and culture. They also have the opportunity to express their feelings freely, like any child in the world should be able to...
In spite of the violence atmosphere surrounding them, in spite of the destitution and the precariousness of their living conditions, the children are welcoming, warm, conscious and proud of their identity. In their dignity and especially in this hope which exists in them in spite of everything, in life and in mankind, they show us that in each child resides a promise.
A Child, A Promise, wishes to offer a great number of children of the refugee camps a chance to achieve this promise a child indeed is, taken as such, carrier of hope for his parents and for society.
With its actions on the field, A Child, A Promise struggles against the injustice perpetrated on children paying the high price of war atrocities. UEUP tries thus to preserve a part of their childhood bestowed to them by birth. UEUP tries to offer them a chance to learn how to build their own identity in order to integrate better in the world, to prepare their future and therefore to be able to be the actors of their own lives.
A Child, A Promise 's work is split in three different yet complementary entities:
- The work on the field with the children which passes first by the evaluation of their needs, then the direct but punctual support, the regular support and finally the long term support.
- Various functions in order to raise funds necessary for the work on the field. In short, to give ourselves the means to develop and especially to perpetuate our actions.
- The information and awareness on the drastic situation of the children of the refugee camps.
